ibis Berlin Airport

ibis Berlin Airport is a new build that opened in spring 2025 in Berlin’s Bohnsdorf district, around 5 km from BER airport. The 3-star property shares its building with the cheaper ibis budget Berlin Airport and sits only about 200 metres from the Grünbergallee S-Bahn station. With 114 air-conditioned rooms, a lobby bar and a 24-hour reception, it offers modern economy comfort a notch above its sister hotel next door.

Who it’s for

• Early departures who can do without a shuttle: the S-Bahn gets you to Terminal 1 in around 10 minutes
• Drivers who appreciate on-site parking with EV charging points
• Guests who prefer a modern new build with air conditioning over older properties near BER
• City travellers with an early or late flight: central Berlin is about 30 minutes away by S-Bahn
• Anyone who wants a bit more comfort than the ibis budget next door while staying below the price level of the hotels right at the terminal

Getting there from the terminal

There is no hotel shuttle, but you will hardly miss it: from the station beneath Terminal 1, S-Bahn lines S9 and S85 head towards the city and reach Grünbergallee after about 8 minutes; during the day the two lines combine for a train roughly every 10 minutes. From the platform it is around 200 metres, or a 2 minute walk, to the hotel entrance. By taxi or rental car the drive from Terminal 1 takes about 6 minutes.

Good to know

• Rooms start at around 63 euros; the ibis budget in the same building is usually a little cheaper
• The breakfast buffet runs daily 6:00–10:00 for around 18 euros; if you leave very early, breakfast is available as a takeaway lunch box
• Check-in from 3 pm, check-out until noon; the reception is staffed around the clock
• The outdoor car park costs around 15 euros per night; a park sleep fly package was not on offer at the time of research
• Wi-Fi is free and all rooms have air conditioning
