Candlewood Suites Berlin Airport is an apartment hotel from IHG and Novum Hospitality that opened in August 2026 on Mizarstraße, in the business park north of BER airport. Its 186 studios and suites across three floors each have a fully equipped kitchen, a generous workspace and free Wi-Fi.

It is therefore not a classic one-night airport hotel but a property built for longer stays. There is deliberately no breakfast service; instead the Candlewood Cupboard is open around the clock and stocks breakfast items, snacks, drinks and travel supplies.

Who it suits

  • Long-stay guests: a kitchen in every unit, self-service laundry rooms and a deliberately reduced housekeeping service.
  • Business travellers: a generous workspace, free Wi-Fi, a copying service and a reception staffed around the clock.
  • Drivers: an underground garage with access control and in/out privileges; the operator markets the hotel explicitly for park, sleep and fly.
  • Travellers with a dog: pets are allowed in every room category, and assistance dogs stay free.
  • Less suitable if you expect a served breakfast before an early flight.

Getting there from the terminal

There is no hotel shuttle, and the operator explicitly lists an airport transfer as unavailable. A taxi from Terminal 1 takes around eleven minutes over roughly nine kilometres.

By public transport you have two options: the S9 direct from Schönefeld station, which involves about 1.6 km on foot between hotel and station and takes around 30 minutes door to door; or the faster combination of bus 744 right by the hotel and the S85, around 23 minutes in total with one change.
